Meet Michael Ridgeway
Michael started Ridgeway Kitchen & Bath in 2009 after twelve years managing projects for a national homebuilder. He watched homeowners get overcharged, left in the dark, and handed off to whoever showed up that week.
He started his own firm to do it differently. Fixed pricing. Daily updates. The same project manager from design to punch list. Sixteen years later, the company has completed 340+ kitchens and bathrooms across Chapel Hill, Durham, Carrboro, Hillsborough, and Pittsboro.
Michael still reviews every design proposal and walks every final inspection. His team of eight (two designers, six builders) works exclusively on kitchens and baths. Nothing else.

Common Questions
A standard kitchen remodel takes 8–12 weeks from demo to completion. Larger projects with structural changes or custom cabinetry can run 14–16 weeks. We give you a timeline during the design phase and stick to it.
Most clients stay in their homes. We set up dust barriers, protect flooring, and clean up daily. For kitchen remodels, we help you set up a temporary kitchen area. Full gut renovations sometimes require a few weeks out. We'll tell you upfront.
Yes. We pull all necessary permits with the Town of Chapel Hill or your municipality. Plumbing, electrical, structural. All of it. Permit costs are included in your fixed-price quote.
We collect a deposit at contract signing (typically 10–15%), then bill in stages tied to milestones: rough-in, cabinets installed, countertops set, final completion. You never pay ahead of where the work is.
Our warranty covers all labor and craftsmanship. If a cabinet door warps, tile cracks, or grout fails because of our installation, we fix it at no cost. Manufacturer warranties on materials (countertops, fixtures, appliances) are separate and typically longer.
It depends on scope and finishes. A refresh (new counters, backsplash, hardware, paint) starts around $25,000–$40,000. A full remodel with custom cabinetry and layout changes typically runs $60,000–$120,000. We give you exact numbers after the design phase. No ranges, no surprises.
